Chandu (Nagarjuna), an event manager in US doesn’t believe in relationships and commitments. Maaya (Meera Chopra) his assistant betrays him in business and as a result Chandu gets stuck in financial troubles fined with a hefty price. His close pals fail to help at the needed time and meanwhile he gets to know about his family and his grandfather (K.Vishwanath) from India. Chandu flies to India hoping to get his property share by acting well among his family members for his own reasons. He gets to meet Sandhya (Nayantara), who works for the ‘Make a Wish’ foundation and later falls in love with her. The rest forms the crux of the story.
Nagarjuna makes a cool entry and he is stylish and classy in the film. It is not erroneous to say Nag beats many young heroes in terms of style and handsomeness. He entertains with his comic timing, dances, romance and gets us connect to the emotional scenes.
Nayanatara is beautiful and as usual she scores in glamour and performance equally. A special mention to her costumes, and her scenes with Nagarjuna have come out well.
Meera Chopra in a brief role is good, Brahmanandham brings laughs in the second half, Thagubothu Ramesh is brief, K.Vishwanth is impressive, Sudha does a neat job, Ashish Vidyardhi and Kota Srinivasa Rao are regular.
Thaman’s musical scores are pleasing and melodious while the background score is impressive and an asset for the film. The songs I hate Love Stories.., Osi Naa Bangaram are shot well. Anil Bhandari’s cinematography is fine. CG and DI works are very poor; Production values are not up to the standard.
Greeku Veerudu is a neat family entertainer just like Dasaradh’s earlier films.
The first half of the film has few feel good scenes. All the scenes between Nag and K.Viswanath are a good watch and remind you of Dasaradh’s trademark family scenes. The emotional scenes are well-shot but the problem is the pace of the film, which is quite slow. Screenplay is not up to the mark and logic goes for a toss at times. The interval is neat and the second half was again clean with good entertainment provided if u bear some silly comedy scenes. Poor CG shots adding to inconsistent screenplay spoils the experience of a feel good movie. Nevertheless, Nagarjuna, Nayanathara and K.Vishwanadh give their best performances making it a worth watch once.
Greeku Veerudu -- A treat to family audiences, barring the slow pace and poor CG shots…
