Story

DCR is the story of a 36-year-old Gopala Krishna [Ajay], a bank employ who lives with loving wife Bhavani [Indraja] and two sons. Gopala Krishna aka Krish for young girls always have regrets for his early marriage and flirts teenage girls. On the other hand, Madhu [Naga Shaurya], an intelligent Engineering student. Twist in the tale comes in the form of Samhitha [Sana Maqbool]. Krish and Madhu falls for the same girl. However, Krish proposes Samhitha finally. Will Madhu gain his love? Samhitha succeed in marrying her love? What happens between the three, forms the crux of Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya...

Performances:

Ajay played the titular role. Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya is his story and revolves around him from the begining. He was offered a full length role after Ishq and Ajay has pulled it with utmost ease.

Naga Shaurya is comparatively given a limited scope for performance. Though his acting in the first half is similar to Oohalu Gusa Gusalade, he emoted well in the emotional scenes.

Sana Maqbool was given ample space for performance and the actress proved her mettle. With her expressions and body language she proved she is the apt choice for her role in the movie.

Indraja has done a meaty role, as a house wife who never suspects her husband. A good comeback for the actress.

Brahmaji has done a decent job. He succeeded in bringing out few chuckles on viewers faces with his timing and dialogues.

Technical Analysis:

Thrikoti has made a decent movie with good support from his star cast. He has to be credited for handling sensitive story line with a simple narration. Yet, the debutante director has to be concentrated on the pace, especially in the begining of the second half.

MM Keeravani's music is major plus for the film. All the songs are entertaining and BGM is an asset for Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya.

Cinematography by Rajasekhar is one more highlight for the movie. Especially 'Andari raatalu' song looks beautiful with montage shots.

Editing could have been done better. Sai Korrapati's Varahi Chalana Chitram lavishly presented the movie. Production values are high, every frame looks grand.

Analysis:

Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya is more or less a normal movie with no twists and turns. The otherwise could have made the film a true commercial entertainer. Though Thrikoti handled the sensitive script nicely, DCR is just descent and not interesting.

Director has got complete trustworthy crew and supportive star cast. Flawless and fast paced narration could have taken the film a step higher.

First half of the movie is light-hearted with comedy portions between Ajay and Brahmaji. Comparatively, second half is slow and melodramatic towards the end. Climax seems abrupt with sudden realization by Ajay.

Final Verdict: Loosely packed New age Love Story. Worth watching once...
