Mani Ratnam, the ace director is in search of the lead actress for his ongoing project ‘Kadal’, as the lead actress Samantha has opted out of the film.

Samantha, the charming actress is going high in her career and has many films in her kitty and so opted out of Kadal due to date issues. The director and crew of Kadal are in search of a new actress, who can replace Samantha. Gautham, son of Karthik is playing the protagonist in Kadal, which has Aravind Swamy essaying a pivotal role along with Lakshmi Manchu and Action King Arjun.

AR Rahman is composing the music tunes and BGM for Kadal that has started shooting in March and progressed well till date. Samantha is gearing up to release her bilingual graphical extravaganza Eega directed by SS Rajamouli with Nani and Sudeeep in the lead roles. And the actress is also busy with a couple of projects in Tollywood along with Gautham Menon directing bilingual movie ‘Neethane En Ponvasantham/Yeto Vellipoindi Manasu’ with Jeeva [Tamil] and Nani [Telugu].
