Congratulate Nagarjuna on successful 25 year journey in Tollywood! - Exclusive

on May 23, 2011

Tollywood’s Manmadhudu and King Nagarjuna has completed 25 successful years in the film industry. On this eve, Way2Movies brings you an exclusive article on the journey of  Nagarjuna in TFI.

Being the son of the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna made an easy entry into Tollywood as a hero with the film Vikram on may 23rd 1986. But things weren’t easy at the beginning as Vikram resulted as flop and he later struggled hard to score a hit. Later he proved his acting skills and evolved as an actor with films like Majnu, Janaki Ramudu, Akari Poratam, Vicky Dada etc.

However, it is his Geethanjali and Shiva, released in 1989 proved Nagarjuna a versatile and top slot hero in Tollywood. Both the films were two distinct trendsetters and remained as milestone in his career. RGV’s directorial Shiva brought him the mass image and made him popular among the youth.

There is no look back for the actor from there on and Nag has delivered many blockbuster hits like Killer, Rakshana, Varasudu, Allari Alludu, Criminal, Hello Brother, Ninne Pelladatha et al. Nagarjuna is one actor who earned class and mass images equally and he has a large female fan base from his early career.

His Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu with director Raghavendra Rao need a special mention. Critics had showered praises on the actor for his extraordinary action skills in these ever-green devotional flicks. Of late, his experimental and distinct flick Gaganam also earned him critical applauses.

Though Nagarjuna has also had major flops in his career, he hasn’t lost hope and has managed his film career effectively. Nag’s Santhosham, Manmadhudu films made him a star for family audiences and the Yuvasamrat has turned out as Tollywood Manmadhudu. Every heroine, who steps into TFI has a dream to act opposite Nag. Infact, Nagarjuna has also been linked up with his female co-stars at several times, but the actor has not taken the rumors seriously and moved on with his career.

Nagarjuna has also acted in Tamil, Kannada and Hindi languages but has concentrated mainly on Telugu film industry. Nagarjuna is also known for appreciating new talents and has introduced directors like RGV, Krishnavamsi, and Lawrence and encouraged them. He even turned as producer and has made around 20 films under the banner Annapurna Studios. At the age of 50, Nagarjuna still looks handsome and charming and is giving tuff fight to the young generation stars.

Nag currently has  and a devotional flick Shiridi Sai Baba projects in hand and still being busy in his professional career. Way2go… Nag

We at Way2Movies congratulate the King of Tollywood Nagarjuna on his successful 25year journey in the film industry also wishing him the success and good luck for his future projects.
